I know this is a little OT, but throughout the exercise today I couldn't help but remember the story of the mathematician and the king. Here is a version of the fable. It is used as an illustration of exponential/geometric growth (and how difficult it is to conceptualize).
I always thought the king was stupid, but after seeing how small a volume 2000+ grains of rice occupies, I find the story much more compelling!
